Who We Are
Far & Roaming is a family travel blog run by a coeliac traveller sharing personal experiences of eating gluten-free around the world. The content on this site — including restaurant mentions, food tips, and destination guides — reflects our own first-hand experiences at a specific point in time.
We are not medical professionals, registered dietitians, or food safety inspectors. Nothing on this blog constitutes medical or dietary advice.
About Our Gluten-Free Recommendations
When we describe a restaurant, dish, or food product as “gluten-free” or “coeliac-friendly”, we are sharing what we were told by staff, what appeared on the menu, or what we experienced during our visit. We cannot verify, and do not guarantee, the accuracy of allergen information provided by any third-party establishment.
Restaurants change. Menus change. Recipes change. Ingredients change. Staff change. A dish or establishment that was safe during our visit may not be safe at the time of your visit. Cross-contamination risks vary widely between kitchens and cannot be assessed remotely.
You must always verify allergen information directly with the restaurant or food provider before ordering, regardless of any recommendation you read on this blog.
For Coeliacs and People with Serious Gluten Intolerance
Coeliac disease is a serious autoimmune condition. Even trace amounts of gluten can cause significant harm to those affected. If you have coeliac disease or a severe gluten intolerance, please be aware of the following:
- Our descriptions of food experiences are personal accounts, not safety certifications.
- We cannot assess the cross-contamination risk of any kitchen we have not inspected ourselves — and even then, conditions may have changed.
- “Gluten-free menu” does not always mean a dedicated gluten-free kitchen. Shared fryers, shared utensils, and shared preparation surfaces remain a risk in many establishments.
- In countries where English is not widely spoken, allergen communication may be limited or unreliable. We recommend carrying written allergen cards in the local language.
- Apps and third-party databases (including those we may reference) are community-sourced and may be outdated or inaccurate.
Always consult your doctor or a registered dietitian for personalised medical guidance regarding your condition.
Limitation of Liability
Far & Roaming, its authors, and its contributors accept no responsibility or liability for any adverse reaction, illness, injury, loss, or damage — whether direct or indirect — arising from reliance on any gluten-free or food-related content published on this blog.
By using this website and acting on any food recommendation contained within it, you acknowledge that:
- You are doing so at your own risk.
- Far & Roaming cannot be held liable for the accuracy of third-party allergen information.
- It is your sole responsibility to verify the suitability of any food or establishment for your specific dietary needs before consuming.
- Food safety conditions at any establishment described on this blog may have changed since the date of our visit.
