Far & Roaming is an independent family travel blog. To keep it running, some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy or book something, we may earn a small commission from the company. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same as if you went to the company directly.
How affiliate links work here
- Posts that contain affiliate links say so near the top of the post or next to the link itself (for example: “affiliate link”).
- We only link to products and services we have used ourselves or that we would genuinely use on our own trips. If we haven’t tried something, we say so.
- Companies do not get to review, edit or approve what we write. A commission never changes our opinion, our ranking of options, or what we tell you to skip.
- We are not paid to write positive reviews. If a post is ever sponsored or we receive something for free, we will label it clearly as sponsored or gifted at the start of the post.
Who we currently work with
At the moment the affiliate links on this site are:
- Klook (via the Travelpayouts partner network) — tickets, passes, transfers and tours, mostly in our Japan posts.
- Stay22 — links to hotels and other accommodation (for example on Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com or Vrbo). Stay22 can automatically turn ordinary accommodation links on this site into affiliate links.
- Our own digital products sold through Gumroad (for example travel checklists and guides). When we recommend these, we earn the full sale price because we made them.
We may join other travel partner programmes in the future (for example hotel, tour, eSIM or travel-insurance providers). When we do, this page will be updated and the links will be labelled in the same way.
Advertising
This site does not currently show display advertising. If that changes, ads will be clearly separated from our own content and will be described in our Privacy Policy.
Gluten-free and health information
Our gluten-free recommendations are based on our own experience and are not medical advice. Please read our Gluten-Free Content Disclaimer before relying on any food recommendation.
Why we tell you this
We want you to know exactly how this blog makes money, so you can decide for yourself. This disclosure follows the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides and EU and Portuguese consumer-protection rules on commercial communications and advertising transparency.
